The verification of usability of the heart rate variability in the training process for cyclists
KADLEC, Jakub
Alternation of intensity and rest in the right proportion is crucial for the development of sports performance. The correct timing of the practice can be simplified by monitoring heart rate variability. The aim of the thesis is to verify connection between the current readiness to give a sport performance and HRV. The verification had been performed using HRV monitoring and stress tests. The stress tests were undertaken in Functional Load Diagnostic Laboratory belonging to the Department of Sport Studies at the University of South Bohemia. The experiment had been running for two months. The participants of the experiment were two cyclists of XC category. One of the limiting factors of the experiment is the number of participants. The statistical significance of values was gained by comparing spirometry and spectral analysis of heart rate variability results. Correlation of values of sympathetic nervous system stimulation and minute ventilation can be considered as statistically important. Connections of only one of two experiment participants were statistically important for the thesis. The first of the probands showed 32 statistically important correlations out of 140. The second of the probands showed 11 statistically important correlations out of 140. More statistically significant correlations have been proven in cyclist with higher level of performance. The connection between the level of performance and the HRV, the importance of which is particularly in determining the level of compensation, has been confirmed at least to some extent.
Twelve minutes test of rugby players considering the aspects of their score classification
Brůžek, Josef ; Prokešová, Eva (advisor) ; Pavlová, Ilona (referee)
Title: Twelve minutes test of rugby players considering the aspects of their score clasification. Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to define the level of endurance ability at every player individually and how does this ability influence their clasification. The next aim of this paper is whether the results of endurace ability correspond with the chosen parameters (lengh of players history, type of wheelchair and the influence of players experience before the injury). Methods: The main method of this thesis is testing - modified twelve minutes Cooper test for wheelchair sportsmen, which was measured in training units during the period of June 2019 at 23 objects. Tested players are at the age of 23 - 40 years old, who are active wheelchair rugby players with a different length of playing history. All subjects suffer from spinal cord injury, specifically quadriplegia. The final assessment was based on evaluation table called "Field test estimation of maximal oxygen consumption in wheelchair users", which operates with five health levels (excellent, above-average, average, below-average, poor). Recorded data was transformed into an electronic form and then processed by Microsoft Excel 2013, where it was evaluated and transformed into tables and graphs. Results: When evaluating...

Performance prognosis and comparison male and female race performance in long distance Triathlon Ironman Hawaii.
Látová, Lenka ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Horčic, Josef (referee)
Title: Performance prognosis and comparison of male and female race performance in long distance Triathlon Ironman Hawaii. Objectives: To analyze male and female performance in each part of triathlon (swim, bike, run) and whole race performance at 1979-2014. To find performance prediction of racers using time series analyses for race Ironman Hawaii in years 2028. It means fiftieth anniversary establishment of the race. Methods: For statistical data processing we shall use time series analysis using SPSS statistic 22 software. We add the final graphs to the historical content and the actual conditions of the race. And then we create the performance prediction in the year 2028 based on the processed data. Results: The swimming part will not significantly improve either men or women in the future. We shall see a slight improvement in the cycling part, as in men and women. In the running section, the performance will improve the most from all the parts of the race . Women will be much closer to the performance of men in the running part. Men finish the swimming part in 2028, in the time of 0:51:00 and women will be around the time 0:54:00 . In the cycling part the times will be around 4:10:00 for men and for women around the times of 4:39:30 . The running part men complete in 2:36:30 and women in...
